Our storyboard shows in depth some of our initial ideas for the horror opening. To show the element of Gothic horror, the storyboard displays some images and descriptions of shots of a dark, hooded figure and spine-chilling gravestones. The Psychological element of horror is displayed through the images of the three girls and the location in the images which is a park. This demonstrates the reality element of Psychological horror and the sense that this type of horror could happen to anybody, which frightens the audience. Creating the storyboard is very useful as when we create the opening, reference to the storyboard can be made to make sure we include all the shots and we don't forget any scenes.
The first few scenes are wide shots and close ups of the landscape and objects like wind chimes. The next few shots are of the photos the stalker is holding. Furthermore, these shots would be close ups and extreme close ups in order for the fear to be given to the audience as they see in detail the images of the victims. The next page of the storyboard consists of wide shots, for the background to be shown in more detail to give extra information to the storyline and make it believable. During the third page the girl feels disorientated after loosing her friends so this may be a chance to use some hand-held shots to show the bewildered and puzzled. The hand-held shot is also a good shot to use throughout the opening as it is a convention of horror films, making the genre known to those who were unsure. As well as this, it is a good shot to use because it creates a sense of panic and dread among the target audience watching it because the vision of them is not clear and everything is shaky.
